Founded on 13 August 1964, the Society has grown from a visionary movement into a vital pillar of national public safety, empowering communities and safeguarding aquatic environments for over six decades.<br>As a full member of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS), the Society aligns its strategic objectives with the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Report on Drowning Prevention and the recommendations of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on Global Drowning Prevention. Through these international frameworks, the Society continues to champion drowning as a preventable public health priority, advocating for accessible lifesaving skills, evidence-based water safety education, and robust rescue standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Honoring Our Heroes: A Note of Gratitude<\/strong><br>On this milestone anniversary, the Lifesaving Society of Malaysia extends its deepest appreciation to the core pillars of our mission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To Our Members and Volunteers: Your selfless dedication, long hours on the waterfront, and unwavering commitment to public duty represent the true spirit of lifesaving. Your rigorous training ensures that every qualified lifesaver is equipped to act when seconds count.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To Water Safety &amp; Emergency Response Agencies: We extend our profound gratitude to our key partners, including the National Water Safety Council (Majlis Keselamatan Aktiviti Air &#8211; MKAA), the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (BOMBA), the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and regional maritime authorities. Your collaboration strengthens the national chain of survival and ensures coordinated emergency response across Malaysia\u2019s coastlines, rivers, and aquatic facilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Looking forward to the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drowning remains a silent epidemic worldwide, but through strong inter-agency alignment with the MKAA, expert guidance from the ILS, RLSS Commonwealth and alignment with WHO public health targets, the Lifesaving Society of Malaysia remains steadfast in its mission: to educate every Malaysian in water safety, survival, and lifesaving skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Every life saved is a testament to the vision laid down on 13 August 1964.
